How will the Private Management Work?
Even though a private company will look after the station’s maintenance, Indian Railways will still manage the most important tasks:
- Selling tickets
- Running the trains
- Ensuring passenger safety
The private company will handle:
- Keeping the station clean
- Providing security inside the station
- Managing parking
- Other services for passengers
This change aims to make the station better for travelers, making it cleaner, safer, and more comfortable.
Nine-Year License for the Private Operator
The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is in charge of inviting companies to bid for operating train stations.
- Companies will have three years to improve and upgrade the station.
- After that, they will be given a nine-year license to run and manage the station.
- According to the license agreement, 15% of the project’s license fee will go to RLDA, and 85% will go to Indian Railways.
